Meeting the Authors

One of the many highlites of my profession as a Teen Librarian has been the opportunities that I have had to meet authors at conferences,or to host them at the Library.

Ashley Bryan.  One of my favorite books is Beautiful Blackbird.

He gave me permission to use his material at a Storeytelling Festival that the Library hosted.

 

Christopher Myers, son of award winning author, Walter Dean, and illustrator of Jazz.

Kieryn Nicolas, author of Rain. What a talented young lady!  She wrote this book when she was in her early teens.We had tons of fun when the library hosted her at the local Starbucks.

Ben captured everyone's attention as he shared stories about how a young black bear cub, that eventually grew into a 700 pound bear, ultimately became a member of his family.
